ABOUT BATC-UTM

Business & Advanced Technology Centre (BATC) is one of the Centres of Excellence of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and is situated in the capital city of Kuala Lumpur. The centre is committed to providing industry driven experience based learning programmes to promote professional, personal and intellectual development and to enhance the managerial skills and effectiveness of executives and managers to meet the challenges faced by today’s organizations.

BATC was established in 1992 as a government initiative under the direction of the former Prime Minister Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad as a result of collaboration between UTM and the Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG) in UK. WMG is part of University of Warwick 's School of Engineering. BATC was the third center to be set up in collaboration with WMG. Other centers are located in China, India , Thailand and Singapore.

BATC is envisioned as a learning ground to provide top class knowledge and experience based programmes to help the Malaysian industry compete successfully in a rapid and changing regional and global markets. To date, more than 1000 working professionals from the corporate sector as well as the Government have benefited through BATC's postgraduate degree and executive development programmes.
